Born
in Norwalk, Connecticut in 1974 to the son of hard-working Italian
immigrants, Dominic Siano was raised with a deep passion and humble
appreciation for Italy and all things Italian.
Between the ages of 5 and 15, Dominic’s parents
sent him to Italy every summer to learn the rich cultural heritage
of their beloved country—language, art, history, music,
food.
The exposure intensified
his love and sense of mystique for Italy. By age 16 he was working
in the Italian tourism market, taking jobs such as hotel attendant,
tour guide, and translator, now happily paying for his own summer
excursions.
At 22, a graduate of Connecticut State University
with a business degree, he immediately launched a successful career
in the technology sector. Taking full advantage of the dotcom
boom, he began consulting for several Fortune 500 companies, until
he was ultimately tapped to implement and manage technology for
GE Money’s Italian holding company. For Dominic, this was
a dream come true.
Working abroad further honed his language and business
skills, and before long he became a well-respected professional,
working side-by-side abreast some of Italy’s most renowned
business heads. (By now he had become so fluent in Italian that
colleagues who first met Dominic often thought his slight English
accent was a put-on, not knowing what to make of it!)
Spring-boarding his incredible success in the financial
services sector, Dominic leveraged his knowledge of Italy and
technology to create the largest online travel tour operator to
Italy in the world—Tour Italy Now (read company description
below), the fulfillment of his lifelong ambition to share the
Italy his parents had given him.
