The Jersey Shore Does Florence, We Hope You Do Too…

So the Jersey Shore does Florence! We thought we’d let the Jersey Shore Season Four get off the ground before commenting on what it’s like seeing this group on the ultimate Italy vacation. As it turns out, last week’s season debut got the highest ratings ever. We know part of the reason is that the show was shot in Florence, one of the most beautiful cities in the most beautiful country in the world!

If you missed the season premiere, here’s an Episode One recap from Rolling Stone Magazine. We note that the group got lost in Florence, something that would not happen if they were on an escorted tour with Tour Italy Now, tee hee! If you’re watching the show, you won’t get to see all that much of Florence, it’s a backdrop to be sure, but remember last spring the mayor of Florence banned Jersey Shore from taping in any of the city landmarks or museums, as was widely reported, including HERE. Of course, we wrote up the Show Italy concept on the blog after writing up the show in Italy HERE. But still, the show is definitely showcasing and capturing Florence. The light and color in the above clip make me just want to inhale Florence, it is so stunning!

If seeing Florence on MTV whets your appetite, Tour Italy Now can put together a customized tour for you with a stay in the city. To learn more about our customized tours, click HERE. We also offer several packages that feature Florence on the itinerary. Click around to your heart’s delight. This Heart of Italy tour makes for a delightful vacation! As for Jersey Shore, where do you think tonight’s episode and the rest of the season are going to go?

Yours in celebrating Italy,

Barbara Fellini

Venice is the most inspiring city not in Italy but in all the world!

The canals at night look beautiful, but the Tuscany one has to be my favourite…its so like the views I left 10 days ago for a green but wet England!

Have been in Italy now 2 weeks, beautiful place but getting to expensive for a country that is on its knees economically!

From City Taxes up to 5 euro pp per day, car parking 20-30 euro per day to coffee prices from 1.5 euro to 8.5 euro! Its a joke! Every attraction has an inflated entrance fee! Just crazy!

I have even heard other tourist on the streets complaining!

Have been in Croatia also, much cheeper and more friendly!

Bye Bye Italy, I will take my tourist money elsewhere!

    Hi Chris

I agree 100% that the hotel tax is ridiculous… and it’s sad and actually pathetic to see them resort to taxing tourists.

However, Italy is Italy! You can’t compare Croatia to Italy. Croatia is beautiful, but has nowhere near the amount art and history.

Hopefully Italians wake up and get rid of those pathetic taxes.

And it’s not just Italy that is expensive, most of Europe has spiraled out of control in regards to cost.

    Thanks for the feedback.
