Tour Italy Now at the New York Times Travel Show 2015!

Great news for all our readers! To kick off 2015, Tour Italy Now’s very own Founder and President, Dominic Siano, will be speaking at the Insider’s Italy panel during one of this year’s biggest travel events, the New York Times Travel Show 2015!

new-york-times-travel-show-cultural-performance-2The New York Times Travel Show is an annual three-day event that will be held from Friday, January 23, 2015, thru Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. This event puts the country’s top travel experts and professionals all under one roof. The exhibition will feature exciting and highly-educational talks, seminars, and discussions about travel, as well as trade pavilions, international culinary demonstrations, and entertaining cultural performances. Last year, the event had an attendance of more than 23,000 visitors, and about 250 speakers in 60 panels were featured. Also present were over 520 exhibitors representing more than 150 international and domestic destinations. This year, those numbers are expected to grow even bigger, as more speakers and exhibitors will be making their presence felt at the 2015 exhibition.

Both travel industry professionals and people who simply want to travel have a lot to gain by attending this year’s Travel Show. At the event, new-york-times-travel-show-author-book-signingattendees can expect to benefit from important insights and knowledge regarding the ins and outs of the travel industry, and also pick up practical tips and information when it comes to actually visiting other places. From educating oneself about local customs, food, and culture, to getting advice on where to stay and which points of interest to visit, this year’s New York Times Travel Show promises to be a treasure trove of travel resources and knowledge.

For those who are interested in visiting Italy, however, make sure to stop by the Insider’s Italy panel discussion on January 24, 2015, at 3:00 pm to 3:50 pm, at room 1E15. Here, attendees can learn all about the best tips and tricks on how to save money when traveling to the lovely country of Italy. The discussion will include expert advice that covers everything from how to plan your trip, to some of the best spots to see or dine at once you’ve landed.

The Insider’s Italy panel will be moderated by Susan van Allen, the author of several best-selling travel books such as 50 Places in Rome, Florence and Venice Every Woman Should Go, 100 Places in Italy Every Woman Should Go, and Letters From Italy: Confessions, Adventures, new-york-times-travel-show-cultural-performance-1and Advice. Meanwhile, Tour Italy Now’s founder, Dominic Siano, will be joined by other Italy travel experts, namely, Kathy McCabe, the editor and publisher of the award-winning Dream of Italy Travel Newsletter; Steve Perillo, president of Perillo Tours, one of the country’s top Italian travel tour operators; and Francine Segan, food historian specializing in Italy, and author of a number of books, including the IACP and James Beard Award-nominated, Opera Lover’s Cookbook.

On top of the seminars and panels, other activities during the three-day event that attendees can look forward to would be:

  • Meet the Experts: In this section of the exhibition, visitors will get the opportunity to have one-on-one consultations with a plethora of travel experts who specialize in specific countries or regions. These travel professionals will be available to answer all of your questions regarding a destination that you might be interested in visiting!
  • World Stage: Visitors will be treated to colorful performances at five cultural stages that will be set up at the venue.   • Taste of the World: What’s the next best thing to traveling? Getting to eat delicious local food, of course! Attend talks about global food destinations, watch and learn foreign recipes from cooking demonstrations, and get to meet personalities and celebrities from the culinary world!
  • Taste of the World – Kids Kitchen: Because the New York Times Travel Show is for kids, too! Here, children will also get to watch and participate in cooking demonstrations, fun food experiments, and sample the various flavors that the world has to offer.
  • Book Signings: Get to meet some of your favorite travel authors at the NY Times Travel Show!
