Tour Italy Now is excited to announce a very special eight day/seven night tour. On April 27, 2014 in Vatican City. Pope Francesco will canonize two former popes, John Paul II and John XXIII. This historic event will take place on the day on which the Catholic Church celebrates the Second Sunday of Easter and Divine Mercy.
On this escorted tour you will experience ancient archaeological and important religious site in Rome, The shrine of Padre Pio in the town of San Giovanni Rotondo.
This once in a lifetime event and seven additional days of touring Rome, important religious sites in Lazio and an overnight in the town of Assisi are all included in this Holy Peace and Spirit Tour for the Canonization of John Paul II and John XXII.

Day 1 (April 25th): Rome
Welcome to Italy! Get ready to embark on an unforgettable experience. Upon your arrival, a private driver will meet you and take you to your hotel. Today, take advantage of a day at leisure, so rest up as you prepare to embark on your Italian adventure!
Day 2 (April 26th): Rome
Early morning departure from the hotel.
We’ll board a deluxe coach, for our trip to the town of After breakfast in the hotel, your day will start with a panoramic visit of the city of Rome and some of its most famous sites including, Piazza Venezia, The Roman Forum, Temple of the Vestal Virgins, The Coliseum (exterior), Arch of Constantine, Tiber island, Castel Sant’Angelo, via Veneto, the Baths of Caracalla, and many more. Your afternoon is free for you to explore the eternal city. Then it is time for dinner and overnight stay at your four star hotel in Rome.

Day 3 (April 27th): Rome – Canonization Ceremony
This historic and important day begins with breakfast in your hotel and then you will be transported to Vatican City for the canonization ceremony by Pope Francesco of John Paul II and John XXIII. The rest of your day is free (dinner is included).
Day 4 (April 28th): Rome – San Giovanni Rotondo
After breakfast in your hotel in Rome you will departure for the town of San Giovanni Rotondo, home of the Shrine of Padre Pio.
You will visit the convent and sanctuary where he lived and. For those that wish, there is the opportunity to attend Holy Mass and Holy Rosary services . An Italian dinner will be served and you will spend the night in a four star hotel in the town of San Giovanni Rotondo.
Day 5 (April 29th): San Giovanni Rotondo – Lanciano – Cascia – Assisi
After breakfast in hotel you will travel to the town of Lanciano, where you will have the chance to visit the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle. You can chose to have lunch before the departure to Cascia. This will be for a short stop in the renowned Sanctuary of Saint Rita. Our journey then continues to the town of Assisi where you will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6 (April 30th): Assisi
You will begin your day in this special town with breakfast in the hotel. Then, visit the Basilica of St. Francis, where you will see masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue, and visit the holy grave of Saint Francis in the interior of the Basilica. Take the opportunity to visit the important Franciscan sanctuaries in the city. Breath the harmony and the peaceful atmosphere of this enchanting medieval city. Your evening will include dinner and an overnight stay in a four star hotel in Assisi.
Day 7 (May 1st): Assisi – Orvieto – Rome
After breakfast in your four star hotel in Assisi you will depart for Orvieto, where we will have free time to visit its magnificent cathedral and charming streets. This medieval hill town is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Italy. After an afternoon of exploring and shopping you will leave for Rome where you will have one last Italian dinner and stay overnight in a four star hotel.
Day 8 (May 2nd): Rome to Home
Have breakfast at the hotel, say goodbye to the Eternal City, and transfer to the airport for your trip home. (End of services).
