Day 1: Palermo
An exciting day awaits! Arrival in Palermo and transfer to your hotel. A city rich in culture and history, with stunning architectural buildings. Check in to your hotel and you’ve got the entire day to discover the historical city at your own pace. You can visit the churches, palaces and museums, opera houses and squares (these sites may have admission fees which are not included in the package). Back to the hotel for dinner and your first overnight stay in Sicily.
Day 2: Palermo – Monreale
Benvenuti a Palermo! First, breakfast at your hotel, then head off to Monreale. This ancient royal town is famous for it’s large production of oranges, olives and almond trees – a spot you will surely like to visit! Make your way back to Palermo and visit the Cathedral and other main attractions in the city. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city at your leisure. Dinner awaits you in the hotel, have a relaxing nights sleep.
Day 3: Palermo – Erice – Marsala – Mazara del Vallo – Agrigento
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. First stop for the day, Erice. A wonderful historic city situated at the top of Mount Erice. A breathtaking view of the city of Trapani awaits while touring the medieval village. Now, time to see the Port city which is located in the western most point of the island – Marsala. Wine tasting to follow, Marsala is famous for it’s delicious wine. Heading south, you will pass Mazara del Vallo, a fishing port overlooking the Strait of Sicily and the city closest to the continent of Africa. Going further down the Southern coast of Italy, Agrigento is your next stop. Known to be the site of ancient Greek city of Akragas. You will be visiting the Valley of Temples (admission included) which consist of Temple of Juno, Temple of Concorde, Temple of Hercules and the Temple of Jupiter – one of the world’s largest Doric-style buildings. Also, you will get the chance to continue your tour to these temples in the morning. You will check-in to a new hotel, enjoy dinner and local wine.
Day 4: Agrigento – Noto – Siracusa – Taormina (Giardini Naxos)
After breakfast, tour the city at the foot of the Iblean mountains – Agrigento. Enjoy the early 18th century buildings, known to be the main masterpieces in the Silician Baroque style. Next stop is the birthplace of Archilles – Syracuse. You will get a chance to experience the famous attractions of the city such as the Greek Amphitheater, the Ear of Dionysus and the Roman Theater (admissions included). Then cross one of the three bridges to the island of Ortigia. The island is rich in baroque and medieval palaces and churches you will surely enjoy visiting. You will then settle at Taormina for dinner and overnight stay. The small town is one of most visited places for tourist because of its beautiful beaches – that you will love to see yourself.
Day 5: Taormina (Giardini Naxos)
After breakfast, you will head off to Mount Etna to experience a once in a lifetime adventure to the largest active volcano in Europe and the highest mountain in Italy. Get a chance to climb to the summit (1800m) if you choose and weather permits. Back to Taormina, the quaint town located on Mount Tauro, a magnificent spot for a romantic dinner and relaxing.
Day 6: Taormina (Giardini Naxos)
Your fun-filled Sicilian adventure will always be a part of your vacation experiences. Enjoy your final breakfast as you take your last pictures of Italy. Transfer from the hotel to the airport. Ciao! We hope to see you again for your next Italy vacation.
