Day 1: Palermo

An exciting day awaits! Arrival in Palermo and transfer to your hotel. A city rich in culture and history, with stunning architectural buildings. Check in to your hotel and you’ve got the entire day to discover the historical city at your own pace. You can visit the churches, palaces and museums, opera houses and squares (these sites may have admission fees which are not included in the package). Back to the hotel for dinner and your first overnight stay in Sicily.

Day 2: Palermo – Monreale

Benvenuti a Palermo! First, breakfast at your hotel, then head off to Monreale. This ancient royal town is famous for it’s large production of oranges, olives and almond trees – a spot you will surely like to visit! Make your way back to Palermo and visit the Cathedral and other main attractions in the city. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city at your leisure. Dinner awaits you in the hotel, have a relaxing nights sleep.

Day 3: Palermo – Erice – Marsala – Agrigento

Breakfast at the hotel and travel to Noto, a picturesque fishing town that’s popular for its stately Baroque architecture. Visit Cathedral of San Nicolò, a recently renovated structure, and then stretch your legs on a walk around the center. Continue along the south coast to Syracuse, on Sicily’s southeastern tip. Visit Parco Archeologico della Neapolis, Syracuse’s famous archeological zone that’s home to a vast collection of Greek and Roman ruins from all over Sicily. Head inside to see impressive excavations such as the Greek theater, Roman amphitheater and the Ear of Dionysius – an artificial limestone cave. After the visit, cross one of the city’s bridges for a visit to the island of Ortygia, home to a wealth of Baroque churches and medieval palaces.

In the late afternoon arrive in Taormina, check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 4: Agrigento – Noto – Siracusa – Taormina (Giardini Naxos)

After breakfast, tour the city at the foot of the Iblean mountains – Agrigento. Enjoy the early 18th century buildings, known to be the main masterpieces in the Silician Baroque style. Next stop is the birthplace of Archilles – Syracuse. You will get a chance to experience the famous attractions of the city such as the Greek Amphitheater, the Ear of Dionysus and the Roman Theater (admissions included). Then cross one of the three bridges to the island of Ortigia. The island is rich in baroque and medieval palaces and churches you will surely enjoy visiting. You will then settle at Taormina for dinner and overnight stay. The small town is one of most visited places for tourist because of its beautiful beaches – that you will love to see yourself.

Day 5: Taormina

After breakfast, you will head off to Mount Etna to experience a once in a lifetime adventure to the largest active volcano in Europe and the highest mountain in Italy. Get a chance to climb to the summit (1800m) if you choose and weather permits. Back to Taormina, the quaint town located on Mount Tauro, a magnificent spot for a romantic dinner and relaxing.

Day 6: Taormina – Savoca and Forza D’Agro – Catania

After breakfast travel to Savoca and Forza D’Agrò a pretty hillside villages where Francis Ford Coppola filmed some of the immortal scenes of Godfather’s trilogy . A visit for lovers of this movie but also even if you aren’t a fan, this stop is a fascinating way to visit these unspoiled and typical Sicilian hill towns a real insight into the island and the heart of its people. A stop for a lemon granita at Bar Vitelli is a must for any visitor in town. It is still run by the family who owned it at the time of filming and exhibits a collection of photos taken when Francis Ford Coppola shot some scenes of The Godfather II. We also leave you time to explore further and really soak up the atmosphere of this hidden, not-for-tourists Sicilian hilltown. Everything here is just like in the movie. After the visit depart to Catania. Afternoon free time to explore Catania’s UNESCO-listed historical center with his Baroque palaces and Roman ruins. See Piazza Dante and the Fountain of the Elephant, carved from volcanic rock. Dinner and overnight in Catania.

Day 7: Catania

Your fun-filled Sicilian adventure will always be a part of your vacation experiences. Enjoy your final breakfast as you take your last pictures of Italy. Transfer from the hotel to the airport. Ciao! We hope to see you again for your next Italy vacation.
