Situated in the heart of Rome, between the ancient thermal baths of Diocleziano and the majestic Basilica degli Angeli, designed by the great Michelangelo.

Andrea stayed at the Boscola Exedra for four nights when performing Bizet’s Carmen (the performance was released on c.d. in 2010). With a little luck, you may find yourself staying in the same room as Andrea did.

To finish your first day on tour, you’ll dine at the Tazio restaurant alongside a pool on the terrace of your hotel. Tonight’s dinner will see you enjoying Italian classics transformed into modern, delicious dishes, as you take in the beautiful skyline of the Eternal City.

Day 2: Rome

Today we will depart the hotel early, Roma awaits you!

Journey back to the majestic Roman empire, beginning with the Roman Forum as you follow the road to the Colosseum, a true symbol of the city of Rome.

Imagine the raw atmosphere here in May of 2009, when Andrea sang in concert for the victims of the earthquake in Abruzzo. His performance included a duet with world class soprano Angela Gheorghiu.

Continue your tour through the hills of Rome, the Palatino, where the oldest and greatest numbers of relics from the ancient Roman empire lie; these include the Capitolino, where you’ll find the monuments of Giove and the present seat of the Courthouse.

Stop for a leisurely lunch at the Peperone, where you’ll catch a glimpse of a completely different side of Rome. Peperone is situated on Via Veneto, one of the most famous streets in the world! This picturesque tree-lined street is the heart of the social scene for movie stars and politicians alike. Choose pizza baked in a wood-burning oven, or a vast array of antipasti or pastas from the extensive menu, and then watch the world go by while you eat!

After a long pause for lunch and a morning of sightseeing, your afternoon is free. Your personal driver will take you anywhere that you desire. Lose yourself among Rome’s shopping district or wander through the city’s famous Piazzas. If you would rather just relax, make your next stop the Hotel spa, where you can unwind in the intimate and refined surroundings. In the evening you will have the opportunity to visit another important venue in the story of Andrea: the Teatro dell’ Opera, where he performed in Carmen, directed by Myung-Whun Chung. If you happen to visit on a Sunday, you will have the choice of enjoying an aperitif and concert.

After the opera, it’s time for an intimate dinner at the Crostaceria Ipanema, where you’ll taste some of the best seafood in Rome! Enjoy the rich ambiance and the privacy of this outstanding restaurant, practically in the shadows of the Colosseum.

(Legend says the cemetery has been covered with soil from the Holy Land). Take a look inside the Baptistery of St John and visit the famous Campanile, more famously known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

While in Pisa you will have another opportunity to follow the path and the career of Andrea Bocelli. In 1997, Andrea performed a selection of traditional Italian songs in the Piazza dei Cavalieri in collaboration with Sarah Brightman and Nuccia Focile. The recording of this performance holds a special place in Andrea’s career. It launched his cd “Romanza” on the American market and sold with great success.

As twilight approaches you will make your way to Teatro Verdi, world famous launching pad of many great Italian artists. Pavarotti made his 1969 debut here in “Rigoletto” and of course, the world was introduced to the outstanding talent of Andrea Bocelli when he performed in “Macbeth” in 1994. You will feel the magic of the Teatro as you view the very stage where Andrea began his professional career.

To complete your time in Pisa, your guide will drive you to Osteria dei Cavalieri, where you’ll enjoy a wonderful traditional menu before returning to your farmhouse apartment to overnight at Bocelli Farm.

Day 7: Lajatico

This morning is very special. Travel with your guide by private car to our first destination – the city of Lajatico – where you will visit Andrea’s birthplace.

The city sits on a hill overlooking the Era River, its origins date back to the Etruscan/Roman period, but the actual historic neighborhood is said to date to the 12th century. The symbol of the city is the Rocca di Pietracassia, an abandoned medieval castle that offers panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside.

After enjoying the scenery, we will make our way to the Chiesa di San Leonardo. This fascinating architectural exhibit has a neoclassic form as a result of its reconstruction in the mid 19th century. More important than the architecture though, It is here that Andrea, began learning piano at the tender age of 6, and where he later served as an organist for many years.

There is so much more Andrea Bocelli history to discover today as we move on to the Teatro di Silenzio, the “theater of silence”. The theater was built by Andrea with the idea of establishing a structure that hosts only one concert a year. The Teatro was launched on the 27th of July, 2006. No ordinary theater. The stage here is broken down when not in use, and becomes an artificial lake.

Andrea’s last performance in the Teatro was in July of 2010. The concert was as always, held in front of an international audience, and quickly sold out. The orchestra was under the direction of Eugene Khan. The first half was dedicated to the classics, from Berlioz to Bellini, including an emotional rendition of Ave Maria. The second half of the program moved to more contemporary pieces, including Bizet, Gounoud and Ribas.

Today we will stop for lunch at La Vallata restaurant, a country house built in the 16th century. La Vallata offers genuine cuisine featuring food produce sourced from the local area. Relax in the warm environment and sample a range of outstanding dishes, including handmade pasta with truffles, many antipasti and tempting second dishes featuring various meats from the region.

After lunch your private guide will drive you back to the Bocelli estate for a walk through the vineyards and farm. Discover the animals and gardens, and if you are familiar with horses, you might even like to take a short ride around the property.

The afternoon is free, so you can completely relax! This evening, you are in for an outstanding treat, as your personal chef prepares a customized Italian meal for you. If the weather permits, you can take in the scenery while you eat al fresco under the trees surrounding the villa. Tonight is pizza night!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Andrea were to drop by to visit his horse or perhaps from sheer curiosity over the delicious smells emanating from the wood-burning oven?

Day 8: Tuscania

The last day of your vacation has arrived. Your personal driver will be waiting in the morning to drive you back to Rome, but there are still some interesting places to visit as you make a couple of stops along the way.

First, you visit Tarquinia, where you will see the perfectly preserved Roman Church of San Maria Maggiore. One of the most significant in the ancient Etruscan lands.

This will be followed with a stop in Tuscania, an enchanting etruscan village filled with churches and towers. Your guide will show you Palazzo dei Priori and San Pancrazio’s churches, where Romanic and gothic elements are merged. Then spend some time exploring the ancient Etruscan ruins of Ara della Regina. Finish your morning with a wine tasting and meal at Valle del Marta, a cozy and beautiful country farm house. Return to Tarquinia, and visit the Necropolis, where you will learn about the thematic decorations inside each grave, many of which are linked to famous historic figures.

Now relax as your personal driver returns you directly to Rome. You’ll arrive in the Eternal City in time for a dinner inspired by the sea at the Antico Molo in Fiumicino. The restaurant directly faces the sea, so you can admire the breathtaking landscape as your vacation in Italy gradually draws to a close.

After dinner your driver guide will drive you to your accommodation at the Hilton Airport Hotel. Bid your driver farewell as he wishes you a safe return home. Overnight in Rome, ready for departure next day.
