Italy is famous the world over for its metropolitan cities such as Rome and Milan, and is much-romanticized thanks to destinations such as the Italian Riviera and Venice. However, it is important to note that it’s not ALL about the big cities, and that there are also many, smaller towns and locations that may not be as famous, but are definitely worth a mention.
Today, we’re going to tell you all about the lovely city of Ravenna.
The name may not ring a bell immediately, but it is a city that is steeped in history and tradition. It is a destination that is well worth going off the beaten path for, as it is also home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as many other interesting attractions. It is also the home of the famous Ravenna Festival which is a prominent event in the world of classical music and theater.
