In Vino Veritas: Celebrating Italian Wines

Dining in Italy

Everyone at Tour Italy Now loves Italian wine — no surprise there! — whether it’s a glass of crisp Pinot Grigio from the northeastern region of Italy; a glass of smooth Barbaresco from the Piedmont; or any of the other varieties produced by Italian vintners, we love exploring the Italian wine country! With that in mind, we decided to conduct an informal survey on Facebook. It was an experiment, to be sure, since Facebook’s survey function is a bit clunky and doesn’t always show all possible responses. Unfortunately this skews results in favor of the ones at top. Not surprisingly then, our results followed the order in which the wines were listed. First on the list, with 26 votes was Pinot Grigio, while two red wines, Diablo and Chianti Classico, scored 12 votes and 10 respectively. The remainder of the choices earned anywhere from zero to four, with four votes going to Moscato, a white grown mainly in the Piedmont.

While no social scientist would deem our survey results statistically significant, there is something significant, and more to the point, delicious, about Italian wines! Any trip to Italy travel will offer you an array of wonderful Italian wine experiences. From fine dining and sampling the best Italian wines on the menu to visiting Italian vineyards, wine is likely to play a part in your vacation to Italy.

Italy produces some of the finest wines in the world and with 20 diverse and beautiful wine regions spread throughout the country, you will always find an Italian wine to suit your individual taste. If you have a love for wines from a particular part of Italy’s picturesque wine country, or want to spend your vacation wandering from vineyard to vineyard across Italy, we can help. Just tell us about your dream Italian trip and we will design a customized tour of Italy’s wine regions just for you!

We’d love to keep the conversation going. What is your favorite Italian wine? Have you visited an Italian vineyard? Andiamo!
