Day 1 (Friday): Rome
Welcome to Italy!When you arrive at the airport in Rome, you’ll proceed through Passport Control, collect your luggage and meet the driver for your transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at a leisurely pace, with free time to explore the Eternal City. Meet with your Tour Host at the hotel in the evening to go over your tour program and collect information and literature about the exciting destinations you will visit over the next seven days. Overnight in Rome.
Day 2 (Saturday): Rome (Vatican)
After breakfast, transfer to the Vatican for a guided tour which includes the entrance fee for the Museum. The Vatican is home to some of the world’s most significant art pieces. The masters of ancient Greek and Roman art are represented amongst the Vatican collection. Today you will view the works of Raphael, Michelangelo and many others. Your tour will also take you to the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. When your Vatican tour ends, return to your hotel by private coach. Enjoy a free afternoon exploring your surroundings in Rome. In the evening you’ll enjoy a delicious Italian dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Rome.
Day 3 (Sunday): Rome (Colosseum)
Spend your free morning discovering the city’s Piazzas or just walking around Rome. Meet your guide in the afternoon to live the history of ancient Rome. This itinerary will give you the opportunity to learn about its mythical origins, the thousands years of history and legendary heroes who made Rome “Caput Mundi with a visit to the Colosseum.
Once inside, breathe in the bloody past of the amphitheatre and its atmosphere lead by expert guides with a passion for the Colosseum and its history. Return to your hotel for a short rest before transfer to a traditional Roman trattoria for dinner. You’ll feel at home amongst the locals and appreciate the relaxed atmosphere away from traditional tourist haunts. Overnight in Rome.
Day 4 (Monday): Sorrento – Pompeii
Depart early morning for your transfer to Sorrento with a stop en route in Pompeii. This is one of the most incredible historical sites in the world and is bound to be amongst those unforgettable memories of Italy that you will carry with you forever! After exploring the ruins of Pompeii, continue to Sorrento for a tasteful lunch at a typical trattoria. Meet with your tour host after lunch to learn about the activities planned for your time in Sorrento.
Tonight’s dinner will be served at a local restaurant in the heart of Sorrento. Return to your hotel and overnight in Sorrento.
Day 5 (Tuesday): Sorrento – Capri
Today your guide will accompany you on a visit to Capri. This enchanting and picturesque island made entirely of limestone rock, was a favorite of Roman emperors, the rich and famous. Artists and writers have also traditionally gravitated to the isle of Capri, and it is still one of the Mediterranean’s must-see destinations.
Return to your hotel after your day touring and overnight in Sorrento.
Day 6 (Wednesday): Sorrento
Sorrento is the perfect base for discovering the beautiful places across the region. Your Tour Host will provide you with a wide range of opportunities and suggestions for things to do on your free day. If there is a special excursion you wish to take, you also have the option of reserving it in advance via your travel agent. Overnight in Sorrento.
Day 7 (Thursday): Sorrento – Amalfi Coast
Today you’ll enjoy a visit to one of the most intriguing coastlines in the world. Amalfi, Positano, Minori, Vietri… you’ll be amazed by the small houses all huddling on top of each other; the breathtaking cliffs; the lemon and olive trees; the small beaches; the Saracen and medieval watch towers; and the tiny, narrow roads. This is a place so unique in the world, so precious that it has been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Spend the day exploring and immerse yourself in the atmosphere. Return to Sorrento.
Tonight’s Farewell dinner will be served in a panoramic restaurant on the hills of Sorrento. Enjoy the regional cuisine as you celebrate your last night on tour and bid your new found friends farewell. Overnight in Sorrento.
Day 8 (Friday): Sorrento (Departure)
Today you will depart for home. Rise early and meet the driver to make your way to the airport
